Okay, let’s pretend

“I should have given back visibly, but I promise I always gave.” ~

Okay, let’s pretend. In acres we exist.
That for a second our callings match.
There is no limit, no boundary, no rules.
And I could see it, very briefly, but there.
And as perfect as it could be, it would.
It would still end. We would still leave.
So I begin to question the point of it.
For what would I give up a force like this?
Magnetic, enigmatic, driven by my chest.
Thuds to the solid floor of my heart.
Dreams in which I can hold your hand.
Tears on nights I feel your pain.
Quivering hands pushing life to you.
Covering it up with little idiosyncrasies.
Stories and complaints, diverting truth.
Pushing it away inside and having it again.
Bubbling through my veins, choking me.
I wouldn’t give this up, our mystery mess.
Not for anything ideal, not for anything less.
I’m not sure for you, for me it’s profound.
How space, time, earth and ether align.
For the transformation of heart strings,
into all things divine.
